Jaime may be the best known artist today for success in the charts but she started her career by singing in local pubs on the street and entering local competitions in her home city Hull. By 2011 Jaime was starting  to make the dream of been a household name a reality by producing her own music and working with some of the biggest names in the industry. By 2013 she had already featured on many award winning albums for the likes of Calvin Harris, Naughty Boy and Disclosure. In 2014 she finally got the chance to release her own debut album which stormed the charts and went straight to Number One in the UK and reached the top ten in the USA, Australia  and Spain. With sell out tours across the world and multiple TV appearances we now get to discover the secret to storming the charts...

2014 is coming to an end. How has it been for you?
It’s been a wonderful year, I've released my debut album which went straight to number one in the UK and I managed to break new territories and make the top ten in the USA, Australia and Spain. I've been singing for many years now, but I’m learning new things every time. One of the key things this year has been learning to  perform in new places. I remember a couple of years ago performing in a bar and getting it so wrong. I sang upbeat songs because that’s what I was known for, but I didn't realise how different playing in the UK was compared to playing in the USA. However, 2014 has been the year which I have learnt a lot about my self as an artist and came on the most.

Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with  in 2015?
My dream artist to collaborate with in 2015, would probably be Rudimental, they’ve just had an amazing year and have produced amazing records. I have recently just done a gig with them in London, and they just kept the crowd going from start to finish, and are my inspirations in the music industry.

You released your album this year and have had massive success with it. What things have inspired you to produce particular tracks?
Where do I start? I’m always inspired by people and events, and whenever something happens that inspires me the next time I'm in the studio I try to relive my feelings and experiences and express them in song lyrics, and hope that a good tack comes from that.

Who was your idol growing up?
JLO was my idol growing up because she's achieved so much and the fame never went to her head and she still remains the same today as she did before everything happened.

You moved from Hull to London to fulfil your dream. What has been the worst gig you have ever performed?
Chico’s on Archway roundabout in North London. Thankfully its closed now.

Do you find it hard to write when your on the road touring?
I've tried but I find it really hard to write when I'm out of my comfort zone and travelling all the time. I think that it is better to take time out now and again from touring and just write music. There’s something about being at home that helps me think a little more clearly.

What advice would you give to aspiring young artists?
To work hard and if you want it that badly you will achieve it whether it takes you a short time or a long time. Also to be committed to what your doing and don’t be scared to follow your dream.
As well as sing you also DJ. And in summer you have been in Ibiza. What was it like?
The dynamics are so different there but amazing. Each club has its own energy, it is just such a special place to be at this moment in my career. When you go to Ibiza there's no turning back. The clubs have a great and constant vibe that lasts all night.
