My Target Audience

Define demographic data
Demographics is defined as statistical data about the characteristics of a population, such as the age, gender and income of the people within the population. When the census assembles data about people's ages and genders, this is an example of assembling information about demographics.

Define psychographic information
Psychographics is the study of personality, values, opinions, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles.

LIIAR analysis

L = Language (The means by which the media communicates to us and the forms and conventions by which it does so).
I = Institution (An organisation that produces media products. It has a system of values, usually apparent in the way in which texts are produced).
I = Ideology (The values and messages).
A = Audience (Who the magazine is aimed at).
R = Representation (What the magazine represents).

Language
The media language used in this music magazine is produced by the photography and text in the magazine. The photography on the front cover contains several different images, ranging from median close ups, close ups, and two shot they are arranged in rows. The pictures are separated by their colours which are; black, yellow and red, these are some of the colours needed to produce a full-colour photograph. The picture on the contents page is music artist Rita Ora at Ibiza 2014. The picture is a median close-up, and the picture shows Rita during Ibiza 2014 and represents the magazines genre dance.  The picture is the only image on the page and is on the right side.The double page spread image is in the centre of the two pages, and takes up majority of the space drawing your attention to it than the actual related text surrounding it. The picture is a group shot and median close-up, and the image gives the characters and the surrounding roughly equal amounts of the frame.  

The text is any product of the media which is designed to be consumed by an audience. On the front page it would be the masthead, the main headline and feature stories of what the magazine is about. The headline '15 years of Defected a house music legend comes of age' shows what the issue of this particular magazine is about. The font size of the artists name in the headline is roughly the size of the masthead, showing the importance and will not be missed therefore will attract the target audience. The headline serves the purpose of keeping the target audience interested, so they're more likely to buy the magazine. The text on the contents page is white and bold and stands out on the black background, and is listed next to the image. On the double page spread the text surrounds the image which is in the middle of the two pages. To capture the reader and make them interested the main title is bold and large. The main title and the text create an overall balance on the page and go with the image.

Institution
The organisation which produces Mixmag is Development Hell Ltd. Mixmag brand overview; magazine, digital, TV, events, app, global, fashion, holidays, overseas licenses. 

Ideology
Mixmag is the world's biggest dance music and clubbing destination magazine.

Audience
The audience of mixmag is 28% female, 72% male, the median age of a mixmag reader is 24. The majority of them live in cities and are single.

Representation
Mixmag represents males who are single that live in cities and are in there early/mid 20's.
